We aim to build a passive house in every parish in Ireland
We aim to build a Passive House in every parish in Ireland and put a smile on our clients faces every time there is an increase in the price of oil.

A passive house is so well insulated that it can be heated with a toaster. In 30 years time your oil bill will be more difficult to pay than your mortgage is now so a Passive House that requires no heating can be your insurance policy.

This graph shows that over 30 years €200k+ can be saved from your heating and mortgage costs when you build a Passive House instead of a 2005 building regs house. The only logical conclusion is to borrow 10 per cent more money and build a Passive House or build a Passive House that is 10 per cent smaller for the same price! The graph drops off after 30 years when the mortgage is paid but the couple who built the standard house (Red Line) still have high energy bills and they will be soon retiring with their income halved. This graph shows 2 people working to pay the heating and mortgage, imagine the situation after 5-10 years with only one person working and 80 per cent of the income going to pay the heating and mortgage in the standard house.

Passive Poroton House:
This is ideal for customers who prefer a block built Passive House due to the many advantages Poroton has to offer like decrement delay, breathability and total elimination of cold bridges. We build the Poro

ton blocks on our insulated foundation system which totally eliminates Cold Bridges between the wall and the floor. The roof is usually insulated with Dense Cellulose and Softboard which prevents summer overheating and slows down heatloss. The Softboard eliminates Wind Chill preventing wind from blowing trapped heat out of the insulation.

Passive Timber Frame House:
Our German Quality timber-frame houses are ideal for a quick build. The windows/doors, insulation, breather membrane, fermacell, and cables are all installed in the factory so site work is minimised and the quality of finish can be guaranteed. Our houses are insulated in the factory with Woodwool and Softboard insulation and triple glazed windows. It is then erected on our Insulated Foundation system which delivers excellent U-values and eliminates all Cold Bridges.

These 5 items are equally important when building a Passive House:
  • Design, Orientation and minimising the external surface area
  • Elimination of all cold bridges
  • U-value of the complete house inc windows
  • Airtightness
  • Decrement Delay

This Viking Traditional Passive house is available for €150,000
We also take on Passive Renovation projects and have reduced some of our clients heating bills to below €200/year using Scandinavian insulation techniques. We renovated an Osteopathic Clinic in Rathmines last year and insulated the building externally with Dense Rockwool insulation, the result is amazing, the client says that he hardly uses the heating in winter as the heat from the halogen lightbulbs is keeping the place warm, if he turns on the UF heating he has to open the windows because it is too warm to work.
GF Plan, FF Plan, Elevation

Our building teams have worked in Scandinavia and Germany, and are used to building houses that perform well under extreme conditions.
